Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative garden designs based on client specifications, site analysis, and horticultural principles.
- Prepare detailed landscape plans, including planting layouts, hardscaping elements, irrigation systems, and outdoor lighting.
- Lead and supervise on-site landscape installation projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Perform skilled landscaping tasks, including planting, pruning, mulching, soil preparation, and irrigation installation/maintenance.
- Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Select appropriate plant species, hardscaping materials, and garden features suitable for the Abuja climate and client preferences.
- Provide expert advice to clients on garden care, plant health, and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals on larger design-build projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards on job sites.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in landscaping and garden design.
- Proven expertise in horticultural practices, plant identification, and plant health management.
- Demonstrable ability to create and interpret landscape design plans and blueprints.
- Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, excavators).
- Strong understanding of soil science, irrigation systems, and pest/disease control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team leadership.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid Nigerian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
