Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products in accordance with established SOPs, pharmacopoeial methods (e.g., EP, USP), and regulatory guidelines.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, Dissolution Apparatus, and other general lab instruments.
  • Accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Prepare reagents, solutions, and samples with precision and accuracy.
  • Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety regulations, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist in identifying root causes for out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results, implementing corrective and preventive actions as required.
  • Document all laboratory activities, test results, and observations clearly and comprehensively in laboratory notebooks and electronic data management systems (e.g., LIMS).
  • Participate in laboratory investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory working environment, including proper waste disposal.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and supervisors to achieve laboratory objectives and support production schedules.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Lab Technician in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, food, chemical).
  • Proficiency in common analytical techniques and instrumentation, especially HPLC and GC.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and recording data.
  • Ability to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Solid computer literacy, including experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven problem-solving aptitude and critical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical GMP-regulated laboratory.
  • Familiarity with European Pharmacopoeia (EP) or United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) methods.
  • Working knowledge of the Czech language.
  • Experience with method validation or development activities.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software for data interpretation.
