This position requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining all areas of the store, including sales floors, restrooms, offices, and backroom facilities. You will be instrumental in preventing slip-and-fall hazards, maintaining sanitary conditions, and ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal of our retail space. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors in all areas of the store.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and display cases.
- Address spills and hazards promptly and effectively to ensure customer and associate safety.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, reporting needs to management.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies regarding cleaning procedures and chemical handling.
- Assist with seasonal cleaning tasks and special projects as required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform various cleaning tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that require standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and pushing/pulling.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, commercial, or institutional cleaning role.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
