Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits under the supervision of senior team members.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on client financial data.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit documentation in accordance with KPMG's audit methodology and professional standards.
  • Identify and communicate potential audit issues and findings to senior associates and managers.
  • Engage with client personnel to gather necessary information and clarify audit queries.
  • Utilize KPMG's audit technology and tools to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in team meetings and client discussions, contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • Continuously develop technical accounting and auditing knowledge through formal training and on-the-job experience.
  • Adhere to professional ethics and KPMG's independence policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or actively pursuing, with completion prior to start date)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • High degree of integrity and professional skepticism
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing CPA licensure or having met the 150-hour requirement for CPA examination
