Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing a variety of vegetables, fruits, and meats according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling simple dishes, portioning ingredients, and preparing garnishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including regular cleaning of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware as needed throughout the shift.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of inventory and adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management by notifying the head chef or kitchen manager of low stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Support the culinary team with various tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
- Handle kitchen waste and recycling appropriately.
- Learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and kitchen procedures as guided by senior staff.
