As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient running of our kitchens, supporting our chefs and culinary staff in preparing and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas are regularly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- Support inventory management by receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies properly.
- Help with the transfer of food and supplies between storage areas and work stations.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, mixers, and other tools safely and efficiently.
- Remove trash and recyclables from kitchen areas.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned by the culinary leadership team.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety principles (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of basic French and/or English is an asset.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
