Key Responsibilities
- Assist kitchen staff with food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, and storage spaces.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Monitor and manage inventory of kitchen supplies, reporting shortages to management.
- Properly store food items in designated areas to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries, verifying contents against invoices.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
- Support cooks and other team members during busy service periods.
- Perform general cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash cans.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Current New Mexico Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one shortly after hire.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
