Key Responsibilities

  • Execute opening and closing procedures for the store, including alarm setting/disarming and securing premises.
  • Manage daily cash handling, including till reconciliation, banking procedures, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and processing transactions efficiently.
  • Support the management team by leading shifts, delegating tasks, and ensuring store operational standards are met.
  • Train and mentor new team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain store visual merchandising standards, ensuring products are well-stocked, priced correctly, and appealingly displayed.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact for colleagues and customers in the absence of senior management.
  • Handle administrative tasks as required, including paperwork and basic reporting.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a retail environment (1+ year).
  • Demonstrable experience in a key holder or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and POS (Point of Sale) operations.
  • High level of reliability and responsibility.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Retail Operations or Customer Service.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with pharmacy or health & beauty retail.
