Red Star Express Plc is seeking a dedicated Junior Warehouse Dispatcher to join our Parcel Control team for day duty operations at our facility within the bustling Trade Fair Complex, Amuwo Odofin. This entry-level role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing parcels, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting our dispatch operations. You will be at the heart of our daily activities, responsible for verifying shipments, updating records, and collaborating with our dispatch and warehouse teams. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parcels against manifests and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
- Process outgoing parcels, including sorting, scanning, labeling, and staging for dispatch according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all parcel movements, updates, and status changes in the warehouse management system.
- Coordinate with dispatch riders and drivers to ensure timely loading and handover of parcels for delivery.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock audits to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Monitor and report any damaged or missing parcels promptly to management.
- Ensure the warehouse and parcel control area remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards during day duty.
- Provide support to other warehouse operations as needed, contributing to overall team efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
- High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read and understand shipping labels and instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) in a warehouse, logistics, or dispatch role.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or parcel tracking software.
- Possession of a valid SSCE/GCE/NECO certificate or equivalent.
