Job Description

EcoCash Holdings is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic product development team in Harare. This is a unique ‘no experience needed’ opportunity, perfect for a fresh graduate or an aspiring designer eager to learn from experienced professionals, grow their skills, and make a tangible impact on products used by millions across Zimbabwe.
In this role, you will be instrumental in translating complex ideas into elegant, user-friendly interfaces across our diverse range of digital platforms. You will contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from initial user research and ideation to crafting pixel-perfect designs and ensuring a seamless user journey. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior designers in conducting user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to identify user needs and pain points.
- Contribute to the creation of wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and user flows that effectively communicate design ideas and interactions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into design solutions.
- Participate actively in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and iterating on designs based on user insights and team input.
- Learn and apply user-centered design principles, best practices, and design patterns to ensure consistency and quality across products.
- Help maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency in visual elements and interactive components.
- Stay informed about industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve design methodologies.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one modern design tool (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- A portfolio demonstrating personal projects, academic work, or case studies (even if hypothetical).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS) is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in fintech, digital services, or telecommunications.
