Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver parcels, documents, and other items to designated locations within Ajah, Lekki and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company safety policies at all times, prioritizing personal and public safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all deliveries and collections, including obtaining recipient signatures and meticulously noting delivery times and any specific instructions.
- Ensure the company-provided motorcycle is consistently well-maintained, clean, and in optimal working condition; promptly report any mechanical issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the appropriate department.
- Communicate effectively, clearly, and courteously with customers, dispatchers, and fellow colleagues to ensure smooth operational flow and resolve any delivery-related queries.
- Handle all packages and items with utmost care to prevent any damage or loss during transit and delivery.
- Accurately collect payments for cash-on-delivery (COD) orders when required and ensure prompt and correct remittance.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of packages onto and off the motorcycle as required, ensuring proper securing of items.
- Represent GIG Logistics professionally, courteously, and with a positive attitude to all clients and members of the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or Class A2 motorcycle rider's permit issued in Nigeria.
- Proven and comprehensive knowledge of Ajah, Lekki road networks, shortcuts, and key landmarks.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a motorcycle safely, responsibly, and efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer and team interaction.
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read and write in English).
- Proficiency in using a smartphone for navigation (e.g., Google Maps) and delivery tracking applications.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of daily deliveries, including lifting and carrying packages.
- Strong sense of punctuality, reliability, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of dispatch riding experience, preferably within Lagos.
- Familiarity with various routes and areas within the broader Lekki-Epe axis.
- Possession of a Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE/WAEC) qualification or its equivalent.
- A strong, proactive sense of customer service and problem-solving abilities.
