Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), operating as Better, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Analyst to join our growing team in Deptford, London. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring data professional to gain hands-on experience in extracting, analysing, and interpreting data that drives strategic decisions across our diverse portfolio of leisure, health, and community facilities. As a Junior Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, helping us enhance our services, understand our members better, and ultimately improve community well-being. You’ll be working with a variety of datasets, from membership trends and facility usage to program effectiveness and operational metrics. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and processing large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform descriptive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to facility usage, membership engagement, and program performance.
- Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards using tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to present key metrics and findings to stakeholders.
- Support the senior data analysts in ad-hoc data requests and deeper dive analyses to answer specific business questions and inform strategic planning.
- Contribute to the improvement of data quality, data collection methods, and reporting processes across the organisation.
- Collaborate with different departments (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Finance) to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging tools, and new methodologies in data analysis and business intelligence.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for understanding complex data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas, data manipulation).
- Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in all work undertaken.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
