Key Responsibilities
- Review and revise existing articles for grammatical accuracy, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.
- Ensure all content adheres strictly to Pulse Nigeria's established style guides, tone of voice, and editorial standards.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking of information, statistics, and sources to guarantee the accuracy and credibility of published content.
- Optimize articles for search engines (SEO) by ensuring proper keyword usage, meta descriptions, alt tags, and internal linking strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with senior editors, writers, and other team members to implement feedback and continuously enhance content quality.
- Identify and rectify any formatting issues, broken links, visual discrepancies, or other technical errors within articles.
- Assist in maintaining a consistent content calendar and workflow for article revisions, ensuring timely updates.
- Stay updated with industry best practices in content editing, SEO, digital media trends, and journalistic ethics.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers regarding common errors and areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, with impeccable grammar and syntax.
- Proven ability to proofread and edit content with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of standard grammar rules, punctuation, and journalistic style guides.
