Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Nob Hill, San Francisco. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of corporate clients, including historical and projected financial statements, cash flow, and covenant compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda, presenting a clear and concise assessment of borrower creditworthiness, industry risks, and facility structure.
  • Perform due diligence on new and existing credit relationships, gathering and analyzing relevant financial and market information.
  • Monitor client performance and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities within the credit portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Senior Credit Officers to structure appropriate credit facilities and terms.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines.
  • Participate in client meetings and calls to gain a deeper understanding of business operations and financial needs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to credit committees and senior management.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and best practices within the credit analysis function.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or a related role within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial projections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or CFA designation (or progress towards).
  • Experience with credit risk software and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
  • Knowledge of various industries and their specific credit risks.
  • Previous experience with a large commercial bank or investment bank.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting financial institutions.
