Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Lab Technician to join our dynamic team in Langley, British Columbia. This full-time, on-site role is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about contributing to advancements in pharmaceutical and medical device innovation. As a Lab Technician at Johnson & Johnson, you will play a crucial role in supporting various laboratory operations, including preparing samples, conducting experiments, maintaining equipment, and accurately documenting results. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine and non-routine laboratory experiments and analyses following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and media with precision, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality control standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including but not limited to spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and pH meters.
  • Accurately record, compile, and analyze experimental data, documenting observations and results in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment or experiments, escalating complex problems to senior staff.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, ensuring proper stocking and storage of materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments to support project objectives and deadlines.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 12 months of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry).
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., solution preparation, titrations, spectrophotometry).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis for data interpretation.
