We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team in Terrebonne, Quebec. In this role, you will be the backbone of our HR operations, providing administrative support, assisting with recruitment processes, onboarding new hires, and helping to manage employee records. You will work closely with HR Business Partners and other team members, gaining invaluable experience across the full spectrum of human resources. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing reports.
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating background checks.
- Facilitate the new hire onboarding experience, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a welcoming start.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support HR programs and initiatives such as performance management, employee engagement, and training and development.
- Respond to general employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR personnel.
- Assist with payroll-related tasks, including data entry and verification, in coordination with the payroll department.
- Generate HR-related reports and data analyses as required to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all sensitive HR information and maintain a high level of discretion.
- Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service oriented approach
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR administrative or assistant role, preferably within a large organization
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
- Knowledge of Quebec employment laws and regulations
