Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Empty waste bins and transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Replenish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • Respond to urgent cleaning requests or spills during the shift.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning (minimum 6 months).
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
  • Excellent communication skills (English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques (e.g., stripping, waxing, buffing).
  • Experience with various cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • WHMIS certification.
