Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive IT professional with a passion for hardware and a knack for troubleshooting? Everton Football Club is seeking a dedicated IT Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. In this pivotal on-site role, you will be the backbone of our operational technology, ensuring that our systems and hardware run flawlessly for staff across various departments, from our administrative offices to our training facilities. This role involves the full lifecycle of IT equipment management, from procurement and deployment to maintenance and end-of-life processes. You will be instrumental in setting up new workstations, installing and configuring operating systems and applications, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and providing crucial technical support to our users. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, install, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripheral hardware.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot operating systems (primarily Windows) and various software applications.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades, including component replacement.
  • Provide first and second-line technical support to end-users, resolving IT issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage IT asset inventory, including tracking new equipment, disposals, and reallocations.
  • Assist with network connectivity issues, including basic troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN and cabling.
  • Document technical procedures, user guides, and solutions for common problems.
  • Collaborate with the broader IT team on project implementations and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure data backup and recovery processes are followed for local systems.
  • Participate in out-of-hours support rotation as required for critical incidents.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in IT support, focusing on hardware setup and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience working in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
