Akamai Technologies is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team in Boston, Massachusetts. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for all hardware, software, network, and system-related issues encountered by internal employees.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems ranging from basic user account issues to complex system malfunctions.
- Manage user accounts and access permissions across various platforms including Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise applications.
- Assist with onboarding new employees by setting up their IT equipment and providing initial technical orientation.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures to build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff and other departments on IT projects, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure timely resolution of tickets and effective communication with end-users regarding issue status.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed to provide critical support outside of regular business hours.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in an IT Support or Help Desk role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
- Experience supporting remote users and various collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Prior experience in a global enterprise environment.
