Job Description

As an IT Support Specialist at Westpac in Waipahu, you will be a pivotal member of our team, providing essential technical assistance and support to our internal staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support, addressing hardware, software, and network issues for internal employees.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to operating systems, applications, peripherals, and connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network equipment.
  • Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, and in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Document all support interactions, resolutions, and system configurations in the IT service management system.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT personnel or specialized teams as needed, ensuring seamless handover.
  • Assist with user account management, including creation, modification, and deletion of user profiles and access rights.
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting, including LAN/WAN connectivity and Wi-Fi issues.
  • Participate in IT asset management, including tracking inventory and deploying new equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to end-users on various IT systems and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Familiarity with hardware components, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Customer-service oriented approach with a professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk)
  • Previous experience in a financial services or similarly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of virtual desktop environments (e.g., VDI, Citrix)
