Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk with a strong focus on stock control to join our warehouse team in Ketu, Kosofe. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting our operational efficiency and customer service. As an Inventory Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse, from receiving and storage to dispatch, ensuring all stock levels are accurately recorded and reconciled. You will perform regular stock counts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, unpack, and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Execute precise cycle counts and full physical inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies and investigating root causes.
- Maintain organized stock locations, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and accessibility of all inventory items.
- Monitor stock levels and report on low stock or potential stock-outs to procurement and management.
- Operate inventory management software to record stock movements, adjustments, and transfers.
- Prepare and process orders for dispatch, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or expired goods, facilitating proper disposal or return procedures.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff and departments to optimize inventory flow and resolve issues.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management analysis.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, custom systems).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer literacy, especially with MS Office Suite (Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in inventory management or warehouse operations.
- Experience with specific warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification preferred).
