Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Tester at Intuit in Richmond, British Columbia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that empower millions of users. You’ll be part of a dynamic and agile team, working closely with developers, product managers, and designers to identify, analyze, and report defects, contributing directly to the reliability and exceptional user experience of our financial solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
  • Perform thorough regression testing to ensure previously identified defects remain fixed and new features do not introduce new issues.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) with clear, concise, and reproducible steps.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and designers to understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure testability.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of automated test frameworks and develop automated test scripts using relevant tools and programming languages.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end quality and seamless integration across different components and systems.
  • Advocate for best practices in quality assurance and help foster a quality-first mindset within the team and across the organization.
  • Analyze test results, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide constructive recommendations to improve product quality and development processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, test strategies, and industry best practices to continuously improve our QA processes.
  • Conduct performance, usability, and security testing as needed to ensure product robustness and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in software quality assurance or testing roles.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with test case management tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
  • Familiarity with various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and UI/UX testing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and defect reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or database querying for data validation.
  • Experience testing web applications and/or mobile applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium).
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#).
  • Experience testing cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with financial software, accounting principles, or fintech products.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or similar QA certifications.
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
