Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, fluent, and culturally sensitive simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during a variety of corporate engagements, including executive meetings, conferences, client presentations, and internal stakeholder discussions.
  • Translate complex business, financial, technical, legal, and regulatory terminology with the highest degree of precision and clarity.
  • Conduct thorough preparation for all interpretation assignments by researching subject matter, specific terminology, and speaker backgrounds to ensure comprehensive understanding.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, neutrality, and impartiality in all interpreted communications, adhering rigorously to professional ethical standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with meeting organizers, presenters, and participants to ensure optimal communication flow and address any linguistic or cultural challenges proactively.
  • Contribute actively to the development, maintenance, and refinement of specialized glossaries and terminology databases relevant to Experian's operations.
  • Adapt interpretation style, pace, and register to suit various speakers, audiences, and the formal or informal nature of different communication settings.
  • Provide ad-hoc interpretation support as required for urgent communications, impromptu discussions, or visiting international delegations.

Required Skills

  • Native-level fluency in English and at least one other major business language (e.g., German, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese) demonstrated through professional experience.
  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, specifically within corporate, financial services, or other high-stakes professional environments.
  • Exceptional listening comprehension, analytical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior verbal communication abilities, articulation, and professional public speaking presence.
  • Proficiency in advanced note-taking techniques and robust memory retention strategies for consecutive interpretation.
  • Deep understanding of cultural nuances, etiquette, and effective cross-cultural communication strategies.
  • Strong command of corporate, financial, and specialized technical terminology pertinent to a global information services company.
  • Unquestionable discretion and an unwavering commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interpretation, Translation, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of recognized professional interpretation certifications (e.g., DipTrans, DPI, NAATI, or equivalent industry-specific credentials).
  • Direct experience working within the financial services, data analytics, or technology industries.
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond the primary required pair.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with various interpretation equipment and virtual meeting platforms that support multilingual communication.
