Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and skilled Process Engineer looking to make an immediate impact at a global technology leader? Intel is seeking a talented individual to join our team in Houston, Texas, focusing on advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and sustaining the manufacturing processes that bring Intel’s groundbreaking products to life. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the forefront of technology, directly contributing to the performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of next-generation devices.
As an Intel Process Engineer, you will be challenged to solve complex engineering problems, improve efficiency, and ensure robust process control within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Design, and Operations, to introduce new technologies and enhance existing ones. Your expertise will directly influence product yield, reliability, and time-to-market. We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in semiconductor physics, materials science, and statistical process control, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative culture and are ready to push the boundaries of semiconductor technology, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., lithography, etch, deposition, CMP, diffusion) to meet product specifications and yield targets.
- Monitor and analyze process data using statistical methods (SPC) to identify deviations, root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to transfer new process technologies from development to high-volume manufacturing.
- Design and execute experiments (DOE) to characterize process windows, improve process robustness, and reduce variability.
- Troubleshoot complex process issues, working with equipment engineers and technicians to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
- Document process specifications, procedures, and training materials to ensure consistent and reproducible manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield enhancement, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards within the manufacturing facility.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and experimental design (DOE).
- Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, MATLAB, or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Experience with specific process areas such as advanced lithography, 3D NAND, or FinFET technology.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Project leadership or mentoring experience.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement novel solutions to complex process challenges.
