Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, fluid delivery, structural support).
  • Conduct engineering calculations, simulations (FEA, CFD), and thermal analyses to ensure system performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate materials, components, and fabrication methods.
  • Lead or participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and reliability improvement programs for mechanical systems.
  • Manage small to medium-scale engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Adhere to Intel's safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers and technicians.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, or system engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials science.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for FEA and CFD.
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or high-tech R&D environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or other cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with facility systems engineering (HVAC, cleanroom design, exhaust systems, ultra-pure water systems).
  • Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP).
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
  • Experience with FMEA, reliability engineering, and statistical process control (SPC).
