Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive first-line and second-line technical support for all ICT-related issues, encompassing hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.
- Execute in-depth diagnostic tests, adeptly troubleshoot, and promptly resolve computer hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, servers) and software application problems.
- Install, configure, and meticulously maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019) and a variety of applications and other software in strict adherence to company standards.
- Manage and actively maintain the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure, including configuration of switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, and ensuring robust network connectivity.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance, system health checks, and performance tuning on all ICT equipment to ensure optimal performance, extended longevity, and minimize potential downtime.
- Act as a primary point of contact for end-users, assisting with technical queries, providing insightful guidance, and delivering effective training on IT best practices and system usage.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, managing the entire equipment lifecycle from initial procurement to responsible disposal.
- Diligent documentation of all support activities, issue resolutions, system configurations, and standard operating procedures within the IT service management (ITSM) system.
- Collaborate effectively with senior IT staff on the resolution of complex technical issues and actively contribute to the successful implementation of new technologies and strategic IT projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to data backup and recovery procedures, and actively assist in upholding robust IT security protocols and compliance measures.
- Respond promptly to IT emergencies, system outages, and critical incidents, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize business disruption.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, printers).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (client and server versions) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN concepts, and basic routing/switching.
- Experience with anti-virus software, endpoint protection, and practical application of basic cybersecurity best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly, concisely, and patiently to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Possession of relevant industry-recognized IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or MCSA).
- Practical experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS) and familiarity with open-source tools.
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice, Jira Service Desk).
- Basic conceptual knowledge of cloud computing environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services – AWS).
