Job Description
Are you a visionary Product Designer passionate about creating intuitive, impactful, and beautiful user experiences? IBM Canada is seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our dynamic team. In this hybrid role, based near our Lewes, Delaware hub, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and iterating on critical features across our diverse product portfolio. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to translate complex business requirements into elegant, user-centric design solutions. From initial research and ideation to wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and final implementation, you will own the end-to-end design process. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for key product features, from discovery to delivery.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop high-fidelity prototypes and mockups to present and test design solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product vision and strategy.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to and maintain our design system to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Present and defend design decisions to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Monitor and analyze product performance post-launch to identify areas for improvement and iteration.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a breadth of design work and successful product launches.
- Demonstrable experience with user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate complex user needs and business requirements into intuitive design solutions.
- Solid understanding of front-end development constraints and possibilities.
- Experience conducting and synthesizing user research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Experience with enterprise software or B2B product design.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience contributing to or managing design systems.
- Proficiency in animation and motion graphics for UI.
- Mentorship experience or leading small design projects.
