Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Officer to join our dynamic HR team in Glasgow. This pivotal role encompasses a broad range of HR functions, with a primary focus on recruitment, payroll administration, and fostering positive employee relations. As an HR Officer at Arnold Clark, you will be instrumental in ensuring our recruitment processes attract top talent, our payroll runs smoothly and accurately, and our employees feel supported and engaged. You will work closely with department managers and employees across various levels, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding processes.
- Process monthly payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring all statutory deductions, benefits, and allowances are correctly applied and deadlines are met.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations queries, providing advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Support disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and legal requirements.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including pension schemes, health plans, and company car schemes, handling queries and enrollments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Prepare HR reports and analytics as required, contributing to strategic HR decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, projects, and policy updates.
- Support performance management processes, including annual reviews and ongoing performance discussions.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Officer or similar HR generalist role, with a strong focus on recruitment, payroll, and employee relations.
- Thorough understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, ADP) and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to HR challenges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards it.
- Experience within the automotive or retail industry.
- Familiarity with various recruitment platforms and sourcing techniques.
