The Human Resources Officer – Overseas Placement will play a critical role in supporting Hanesbrands’ extensive global footprint. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of international assignments, from initial planning and policy development to repatriation. This includes assessing needs, developing assignment terms, ensuring compliance with host country labor laws and immigration regulations, and coordinating with third-party vendors for relocation services, tax equalization, and cultural training. Your expertise will directly contribute to our ability to attract, retain, and develop global talent, ensuring our leadership teams and specialized employees are strategically deployed to drive business growth across diverse markets. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end process of international assignments, including planning, initiation, execution, and repatriation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for international assignees, providing comprehensive guidance and support on all aspects of their relocation and assignment.
  • Develop and administer global mobility policies, ensuring compliance with relevant international labor laws, immigration regulations, and tax implications.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, immigration specialists, tax consultants, and relocation vendors to ensure seamless transitions for employees.
  • Prepare assignment letters, compensation packages, and ensure equity and consistency in global mobility practices.
  • Advise HR Business Partners, managers, and employees on international assignment policies, processes, and benefits.
  • Facilitate cultural integration support and training for assignees and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records and track all international assignment data, ensuring data integrity and reporting capabilities.
  • Continuously review and improve global mobility processes and policies to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Assist in the development of global talent mobility strategies in alignment with business needs.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years specifically focused on global mobility, international assignments, or expatriate management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international labor laws, immigration processes, and global tax implications.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., GMS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience working with a global manufacturing or consumer goods company.
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish or a relevant Asian language.
  • Experience with a global HRIS platform (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Familiarity with cross-cultural communication principles and training.
