Job Description

As an HR Generalist, you will be an integral part of our Human Resources team, providing support across various HR functions. You will gain hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, training and development, and compensation and benefits. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support new employee onboarding by preparing new hire paperwork, organizing orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth integration into the company culture.
  • Maintain and update HR databases and employee records with accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including filing, data entry, and preparing HR-related documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist in the coordination and logistics of employee training and development initiatives and programs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, escalating complex issues to senior HR staff as needed.
  • Support employee relations activities and assist in conflict resolution and grievance handling under supervision.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal regulations, and relevant Zimbabwean labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as required, providing support and insights.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a clear and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for daily tasks and reporting.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information ethically.
  • Eagerness to learn, a proactive approach to tasks, and a strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field (this is preferred, not strictly required given the 'no experience' clause, but demonstrates foundational knowledge).
  • Familiarity with basic Zimbabwean labor laws and HR best practices (can be learned on the job).
  • Previous volunteer or internship experience in an administrative or people-focused role is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
