Job Description
Presken Hotel in Ojuelegba, Lagos, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily operations of our housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities meet the high standards expected by Presken Hotel guests. You will be responsible for supervising, training, and motivating a team of housekeepers, fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role involves active participation in the inspection process, verifying that rooms are prepared to perfection before guest arrival, and promptly addressing any cleanliness or maintenance issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of hotel operations, particularly within housekeeping, and demonstrate an ability to manage schedules, inventory, and departmental resources efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and schedule housekeeping staff, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to hotel standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and functionality.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with the front desk and maintenance departments to coordinate guest requests and address room readiness.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene policies and procedures.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of housekeeping team members.
- Prepare daily reports on room status, occupancy, and departmental activities.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and properly used, reporting any malfunctions for prompt repair.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional service within the housekeeping team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per hotel operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND or HND in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
