Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms according to established standards, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Replenish guest room supplies, such as toiletries, towels, and mini-bar items, ensuring all amenities are well-stocked.
- Clean and maintain cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed in guest rooms or common areas promptly to supervision.
- Collect and sort laundry, ensuring proper handling of linens and guest items.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards for cleanliness and guest service.
- Respond professionally and courteously to guest requests, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
- Manage time effectively to complete daily assigned tasks within specified timeframes.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and special cleaning tasks as assigned.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), pushing, and pulling.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a 3-star or higher hotel environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, French) is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in professional cleaning or hospitality services.
