Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, processing check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously.
  • Manage all reservation requests, including walk-ins, phone calls, and online bookings, ensuring accuracy and availability.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls, providing information and redirecting calls as necessary.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally, offering assistance with luggage, transportation, local attractions, and dining recommendations.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues with empathy and resourcefulness, escalating complex problems to management when required.
  • Process payments, manage guest accounts, and handle billing inquiries accurately and securely.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and professional reception area at all times.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal departments, communicating guest needs and operational updates effectively.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as mail distribution, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Ensure strict adherence to hotel policies and security procedures.
  • Provide wake-up calls and other personalized services as requested by guests.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and local attractions to provide comprehensive information to guests.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven customer service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • A pleasant and friendly demeanor with a strong guest-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/BSc in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) as a Hotel Receptionist or in a similar front desk role.
  • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., French, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kuje and Abuja's local attractions and amenities.
