Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, process check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and assign rooms.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications, ensuring accuracy and clear communication.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate cash and credit card transactions, and prepare daily reports.
  • Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local points of interest.
  • Operate the switchboard, direct calls, and take messages accurately and courteously.
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, F&B) to fulfill guest needs.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service or front desk role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using front office management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Impeccable appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Customer-centric attitude with a genuine desire to assist and serve guests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French, Efik, Ibibio) is an advantage.
  • Previous experience with Opera PMS or a similar property management system.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and services in Calabar.
