Fairmont Château Laurier is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Hotel Laundry Helper to join our dedicated Housekeeping team, with this specific operational role based in Manotick, Ottawa. You will be responsible for the entire laundry process, from efficiently sorting soiled items to operating commercial washing and drying machines, and meticulously folding, pressing, and stocking clean linen. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold all hotel linens, towels, and uniforms according to established procedures.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers, safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all items for stains or damage before and after washing, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area and equipment.
- Handle and store chemicals and detergents safely and in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts of linens and supplies as required.
- Ensure timely delivery of clean linen to various departments.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards for cleanliness and guest service.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions in English.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
