Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly meticulous and dedicated Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor to specifically oversee the cleanliness, tidiness, and overall maintenance of our staff lodging facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, motivate, and manage the performance of the housekeeping team specifically assigned to staff lodging facilities, ensuring strict adherence to Hotel L. A. Eko's established standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular and thorough inspections of all staff rooms, common areas, laundry facilities, and other amenities within the lodging premises to guarantee immaculate cleanliness, organization, and compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize efficient cleaning schedules and routines for all staff accommodation areas, ensuring optimal resource utilization and minimal disruption.
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, toiletries, and other amenities for staff lodging, ensuring adequate stock levels, timely procurement, and cost-effective usage.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the maintenance department for prompt repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of staff lodging facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies, within the staff lodging areas, conducting regular risk assessments.
  • Address and resolve any staff requests, concerns, complaints, or issues related to their accommodation promptly, professionally, and courteously, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate daily and weekly reports on housekeeping activities, inventory consumption, incident management, and staff performance within the staff lodging section.
  • Contribute actively to fostering a positive, harmonious, and respectful living environment for all hotel staff, leading by example in professionalism and dedication.
  • Implement effective waste management and recycling practices within the staff lodging facilities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a proven supervisory role, preferably within the hospitality industry or a similar residential setup.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of motivating, training, and developing a diverse team.
  • Excellent knowledge of professional cleaning techniques, equipment operation, chemical usage, and stringent health and safety standards relevant to accommodation services.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a methodical approach to tasks, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with staff from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and function effectively as part of a larger team in a demanding and fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Proficiency in basic record-keeping, inventory management, and schedule planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, Housekeeping Operations, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience specifically managing staff accommodation, dormitories, or similar residential facilities within a large organization.
  • Familiarity with local health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to accommodation services in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • Knowledge of sustainable cleaning practices and environmentally friendly products.
