Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, breakdowns, and operational issues using a systematic approach and relevant tools.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments of mechanical components, including motors, pumps, valves, compressors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Install new mechanical equipment and systems according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems, wear and tear, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other technical teams to optimize system performance and resolve complex issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or apprentices when required.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and new technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in mechanical maintenance or a relevant trade.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with Honeywell industrial automation products and systems.
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
