Job Description
Honeywell Nigeria is seeking an exceptionally skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in Uyo for an immediate start. This critical role involves ensuring the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of complex Honeywell industrial control systems, building management systems, and related automation infrastructure across our clients’ sites. As a Honeywell Maintenance Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technical excellence, providing expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair services for a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on Honeywell control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and instrumentation.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic components of industrial automation systems.
- Perform system calibrations, software upgrades, and configuration changes as required.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out in strict compliance with safety regulations, operational procedures, and industry standards.
- Generate detailed maintenance reports, document findings, and recommend proactive solutions to prevent future issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams, addressing operational queries and system issues.
- Participate in the commissioning and start-up of new Honeywell installations or upgraded systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and procedures.
- Conduct on-site training for junior technicians and client personnel on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, specifically with Honeywell control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and SCADA systems.
- Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, calibration, and repair.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet IP).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&ID diagrams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Commitment to safety protocols and best practices in industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Honeywell product-specific certifications (e.g., Experion PKS, PlantScape, or TDC 3000).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC controls.
- Project management experience in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems (ICS).
