Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles (e.g., flatbeds, box trucks) to transport merchandise to customer locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections according to company and DOT guidelines.
- Load and unload materials and products, ensuring proper handling and securement to prevent damage.
- Verify merchandise against delivery invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites, providing excellent service and resolving minor issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, store personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise (up to 75 lbs regularly, occasionally more)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with local Flagstaff roads and traffic patterns
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a delivery driver, preferably in retail or logistics
- Experience operating flatbed or box trucks
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one
- Basic knowledge of home improvement products and materials
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
