Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately using our POS system.
- Handle cash, debit, credit card, and gift card transactions while maintaining strict adherence to company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and resolving concerns with a positive attitude.
- Assist customers with returns, exchanges, and special order pickups, ensuring proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
- Promote Home Depot credit cards, loyalty programs, and additional store services.
- Verify customer identification for specific purchases (e.g., age-restricted items).
- Collaborate with other store associates to ensure a cohesive and positive shopping environment.
- Be knowledgeable about current promotions, sales, and store events to inform customers.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
- Basic computer proficiency for operating POS systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is highly desirable given our Quebec location.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
