Job Description

Graham Construction is urgently seeking experienced and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operators to join our dynamic teams on various critical projects across Saskatchewan, Canada. This is a unique opportunity for skilled operators, including those from outside Canada, as we are prepared to offer **sponsorship** for eligible candidates who demonstrate the required expertise and commitment. As a Heavy Equipment Operator with Graham Construction, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our infrastructure, industrial, and building projects. Your work will involve operating excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and other heavy machinery to move earth, rock, and other materials, prepare sites, and contribute to the structural integrity of our projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, rock trucks, and compactors in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily pre-operational checks, lubricate, and clean equipment, and report any maintenance needs or malfunctions promptly.
  • Grade and level earth to fine specifications using laser and GPS grading systems where applicable.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure transport.
  • Excavate trenches, footings, and foundations, adhering to design specifications and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with civil engineers, site superintendents, and other crew members to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, provincial regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around equipment and on site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documentation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment in a construction or mining environment.
  • Valid Class 1A or 3A Driver's License (or equivalent international license with eligibility for conversion) with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in operating excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Physical fitness to perform duties in various weather conditions and challenging terrains.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and coordination.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Heavy Equipment Operator certification from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with GPS and/or laser-guided grading systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • WHMIS and CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certifications.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset for some projects.
