Job Description
Vodacom Mozambique stands as a beacon of telecommunications innovation, connecting millions across the nation and empowering communities through technology. As a leader in digital transformation, our commitment extends beyond cutting-edge services to the fundamental well-being and safety of our most valuable asset: our people. We firmly believe that a robust health and safety culture is not merely a regulatory requirement but the bedrock of a sustainable, productive, and thriving work environment. It is with this principle in mind that we are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring and dedicated individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Officer (Oficial de Saúde e Segurança). This unique role is specifically designed to include comprehensive, on-the-job training, making it an ideal entry point for passionate individuals eager to build a rewarding career in occupational health and safety within a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in cultivating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace across our diverse operations. Your influence will span from our bustling head office environments to our widespread network infrastructure, including technical sites and retail outlets across Mozambique. You will be actively involved in identifying potential hazards, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing effective preventative measures to mitigate risks. Furthermore, you will play a crucial part in fostering a pervasive safety-conscious mindset among all employees, contractors, and visitors. While prior extensive experience specifically in occupational health and safety is not a prerequisite for this training-focused position, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate a keen eye for detail, a proactive and analytical attitude, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the highest safety principles. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enthusiastic about absorbing best practices in safety management, committed to understanding and adhering to local and international regulatory compliance, and passionate about making a tangible difference in the daily lives and security of their colleagues. Your professional journey with Vodacom Mozambique will be actively supported by a dedicated team of experienced professionals, coupled with structured development programs meticulously designed to equip you with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence necessary to not only excel in this role but also to advance your career significantly in this vital and impactful field. This position is not merely a job; it’s an investment in your growth, an opportunity to learn from industry leaders, and a chance to contribute meaningfully to a company that values safety as much as it champions connectivity and innovation.
