Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Lab Assistant to join a dynamic laboratory team. This essential role supports the efficient operation of our laboratory, ensuring that all procedures are conducted with the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses under supervision.
  • Prepare samples, reagents, solutions, and culture media according to established protocols.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Record and document experimental data, observations, and results accurately and thoroughly.
  • Organise and manage laboratory supplies, including stock taking and ordering new materials.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and quality control procedures.
  • Assist with the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory workspace.
  • Collaborate effectively with scientific staff, researchers, and other team members.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report more complex problems to senior staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance laboratory skills.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
