Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily operational activities of the branch, ensuring efficiency and strict adherence to all banking procedures and policies.
- Supervise and train tellers and other operational staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery, productivity, and compliance with internal regulations.
- Manage cash operations, including vault administration, daily cash reconciliation, and ensuring adequate cash levels to meet customer demands while minimizing risk.
- Facilitate seamless customer transactions, including accurate account opening, funds transfers, cheque processing, and prompt resolution of all transaction-related inquiries.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national regulatory requirements, internal controls, and anti-money laundering (AML) policies to safeguard the bank’s integrity.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing effective corrective actions and preventative measures as needed to maintain a secure banking environment.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments and branches to resolve complex customer issues and continuously improve overall service quality and operational efficiency.
- Handle various administrative duties such as stationery management, meticulous records keeping, and general office maintenance to ensure a conducive working environment.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audit and compliance checks within the branch, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of banking operations, products, and services, with an emphasis on retail banking processes.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, capable of identifying discrepancies and ensuring data accuracy.
- High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks, especially in transaction processing and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, data analysis, and communication.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in banking or finance (e.g., ACIB, CIBN).

- Proven experience with risk management principles and compliance frameworks within a banking context.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a financial institution, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- A Bachelor's degree or HND in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
