GSK is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team in Downtown, Pensacola. In this pivotal role, you will contribute directly to the quality assurance and research efforts critical to bringing life-changing medicines to patients worldwide. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and samples with precision and accuracy, ensuring proper calibration and validation of equipment.
- Operate and maintain various laboratory instruments, including but not limited to spectrophotometers, pH meters, HPLC, and GC systems.
- Record, interpret, and report experimental data accurately and completely in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
- Adhere strictly to GLP, GMP, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the investigation of out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- 2+ years of experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar).
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation, aseptic technique).
- Familiarity with GLP and GMP regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV/Vis spectrophotometry).
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or R&D setting.
- Certification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
