Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Savannah, Georgia, with an immediate start. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory samples, reagents, and media according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks such as glassware washing, sterilization, and general lab housekeeping.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Accurately record and manage experimental data, including data entry into lab information management systems (LIMS).
  • Assist scientists with experimental setups, data collection, and basic analytical procedures.
  • Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, maintaining inventory and placing orders as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GLP, GMP).
  • Dispose of chemical and biological waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Conduct literature searches and assist in report generation as required by supervising scientists.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and best practices
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology)
  • Previous experience (academic or professional) in a laboratory setting
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, and spectrophotometers
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Understanding of GLP/GMP regulations
