As a Grocery Cooler Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our chilled and frozen product sections – including dairy, meats, produce, and frozen items – are always immaculately stocked, meticulously clean, and perfectly organized. Your primary responsibilities will involve the efficient receiving, careful stocking, and systematic rotation of merchandise. This requires a keen eye for detail, as you will be responsible for vigilantly checking expiration dates, monitoring product quality to uphold our freshness guarantee, and ensuring that all items are correctly priced, labeled, and presented according to Hi-Lo’s stringent standards. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and stock merchandise in refrigerated and frozen display cases and storage areas.
- Rotate products according to first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Monitor and record temperatures of coolers and freezers regularly to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Check expiration dates of products and remove outdated items from shelves.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooler, freezer, and storage areas, including shelves, floors, and equipment.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, product damage, or safety hazards to management.
- Ensure products are correctly priced and properly displayed.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock control procedures as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and occupational health.
