Job Description
Are you a visionary Graphic Illustrator with a passion for purpose-driven design? Hawaiian Sanctuary is seeking a talented and imaginative Graphic Illustrator to join our creative studio team in Pahoa, Hawaii. Key Responsibilities
- Develop original illustrations, graphics, and visual content for a variety of digital and print applications, including websites, social media, marketing materials, educational guides, and merchandise.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, program, and content teams to understand project requirements and translate conceptual ideas into compelling visual solutions.
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual communications, adhering to established brand guidelines while also contributing to their evolution.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design software to produce high-quality, production-ready artwork.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the visual storytelling of Hawaiian Sanctuary.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Provide creative input and recommendations on design best practices and emerging visual trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Graphic Illustrator or similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse illustration styles and digital design work.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
- Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and layout.
- Excellent conceptual and visual storytelling abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
- Familiarity with web design principles and UI/UX best practices.
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations or in the wellness/sustainability sectors.
- Experience living and working in a communal or retreat center environment.
- Understanding of Hawaiian culture and a passion for environmental stewardship.
