Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grants Manager to join our dynamic team for an immediate start. This critical role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of grants, from application and proposal development to post-award management and compliance. As a Grants Manager at A*STAR, you will be instrumental in supporting our research institutes and scientists in securing funding for groundbreaking projects that contribute to Singapore’s scientific and economic landscape. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end grant lifecycle, including identifying funding opportunities, proposal development, submission, and post-award administration.
- Provide expert advice and support to researchers and project teams on grant application processes, eligibility criteria, and funding agency guidelines.
- Ensure strict compliance with all funding agency regulations, internal policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare, review, and submit grant proposals, budgets, and financial reports accurately and on time.
- Monitor grant expenditures, track project milestones, and facilitate timely project reporting to funding bodies.
- Act as a liaison between researchers, funding agencies, and internal departments (e.g., finance, legal) to resolve grant-related issues.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all grant-related documentation and communications.
- Stay updated on changes in grant regulations and funding landscapes to provide informed guidance.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on grant writing and management best practices for research staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management, preferably within a research or academic institution.
- Strong understanding of grant funding processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to craft compelling grant proposals.
- Proficiency in financial management and budget development related to grants.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Public Policy, Science, or a related field.
- Experience with grant management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Familiarity with Singapore's research funding landscape and agencies.
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or similar professional certification.
