Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage daily operational tasks across various financial products, including but not limited to equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, settlements, and reconciliations to support front-office activities and meet client demands.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational discrepancies, trade breaks, and reconciliation issues in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including trading, sales, technology, risk management, and compliance teams, to streamline workflows and enhance operational controls.
- Participate in the implementation and testing of new systems, processes, and technologies to improve operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Monitor regulatory changes and internal policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and firm requirements.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for process improvement, proposing and implementing solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, highlighting key operational metrics, challenges, and achievements.
- Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing client experience, reducing operational costs, and optimizing resource utilization.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and general computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build strong working relationships.
- Fundamental understanding of financial markets and products.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in an operations role within the financial services industry (internships and co-ops are highly valued).
